Mini Medieval Manuscript Pages
Medieval manuscripts are beautiful relics with great allure and charm. They are fabulous, forgotten objects that required incredible skill and artistry to create, and were considered works of art in Medieval times.
Manuscript pages were hand painted (illuminated) with rare paints and costly gold leaf. Many of them survive from the Middle Age period because they were hand written on prepared parchment (animal skin), not paper. All books were written by hand, usually by monks, and most books were housed in monastery libraries. Each book required painstaking labour to produce, making them highly prized and expensive.

There are 49 mini pages on each sheet. The printable sheet size is A4. The pages are in correct 1:12 scale and measure 33mm(h) x 24mm(w). The books (when assembled) are 36mm(h) x 28mm(w) in size. The completed mini manuscripts look good with approximately 43 mini pages each.
The miniature pages of this DIY printable are illuminated and double-sided, and are suitably aged to create an authentic, ancient manuscript look. These inner pages are perfect for creating 1:12 scale mini books for mini scenes, dioramas and any dollhouse library!

For me the pages are very unclear. Maybe it’s my printer acting up?

Hello Helle, I assume you are talking about the writing itself? The print or font itself is not legible. These fonts are Medieval and they are basically just swirls and flourishes which gives the effect of aged writing. When the pages are reduced to 1:12, the resolution is reduced too. The best effect of these Medieval pages is their age and irregularity, representing old, messy parchment (see photos).
